With the constant construction of green buildings do you ever sit back and wonder which ones rank the highest? Every year the American Institute of Architects and its Committee On The Environment (COTE) chooses its top picks of green buildings throughout the United States and Canada. Just a few days ago the AIA COTE announced their top 10 green buildings which were judged based on their reduced environmental impact along with their positive contributions to the community.

The firms that completed this year’s projects will be honored at the AIA’s 2011 National Convention and Design Exposition in New Orleans. The green designs chosen have proven to be the best at protecting and enhancing the environment and they include schools, convention centers, residential and office buildings.
