Paint your Home Exterior in the Fall

Posted on October 1, 2011 By kwalker (Edit) Leave a Comment

Is your home exterior starting to look aged? Do you notice more chips and bruises than usual? Well before winter arrives, the fall season is a great time to go ahead and have your home exterior painted. You don’t want to wait too late before you decide to paint, because the longer you wait, the more of an eyesore your home becomes. The paint does more than just enhance the look of your home, it also does its part in protecting your home from the elements.

When choosing paint colors, take a good look at your home. If you have an historic home, stick to a color scheme that is historically accurate. You can also hire a professional to analyze old paint chips and recreate the original color. Another thing to consider when choosing paint colors are your neighbors. Don’t copy your neighbor’s exterior exactly, but do use it as a point of reference. You want the color you choose to set your home apart while not clashing with the other homes in your neighborhood.
